1. What should I expect in my first session?

Before your first session you will have a 1 on 1 consultation with a Trainer. This allows you to meet one of our trainers and identify what you wish to achieve from your training, determine some goals, discuss your fitness background and identify what types of training are appealing to you. It is also beneficial to use this opportunity to discuss any other queries you may have in regard to training.

 

2.       What do I have to bring to sessions?

We recommend the following for all Personal Training:

  • Comfortable exercise clothes – something you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Comfortable running shoes
  • Drink Bottle
  • A Positive attitude!

3.       What are the qualifications of your trainers and what is the industry standard?

The industry standard for Personal Trainers in Australia that they possess both a Certificate III of Fitness and the Certificate and IV of Fitness. At MPT We pride ourselves in the quality of our trainers, and continually support our trainers in furthering their education and knowledge by attending industry recognised conferences such as Filex and ESSA. We have a number of tertiary qualified Exercise Physiologists and Exercise Scientists, so you can be sure the standard of our Personal Training is second to none.

4.       Will I have to be locked into Long term contracts?

NO! Melbourne Personal Training does not believe in locking our clients into long-term contracts. We are here to improve your health and lifestyle, not tie you into financial burden. Our training is based on ongoing membership and short-term programs. It is integral to us that all our clients are entirely satisfied with our services.

5.       I get bored of exercise – what sorts of training do you offer? Do you have something that will keep me motivated?

At MPT we believe that exercise should be fun. If you’re not enjoying it then you will lose motivation and once this happens its hard to stay committed!

We specialise in many forms of training  including boot camps, boxing training, mixed cardio, functional strength and MMA style training, while we can also tailor specific programs for particular events  or sports. For instance, we have successfully trained rowing teams and even provided programs for clients preparing to walk the Kokoda trail!

6.       I haven’t trained for a long time, is it OK to begin personal training even though I am not fit?

YES! We would love to help you improve your fitness – after all that’s our passion! Regardless of your fitness background, we would love to assist you improve your health!

7.       I am interested in Group Personal Training classes, but am worried I will not be as fit as other group members. Is it still OK for me to join in?

The Group Personal Training classes are designed so that regardless of your fitness levels, you can benefit equally. The beauty of these classes is that you can go as hard or easy as you like, depending on how you feel. Everyone is welcome in these classes. Another great feature of the classes is that you put yourself into an environment with people looking to achieve the same as you, whether it is improving their health and lifestyle, losing weight, toning up or just exercising with friends.

8.       I am unsure if Personal Training is for me – Do you have any programs for beginners wanting to trial Personal Training?

It is vital to us that as a client, you are comfortable and willing to participate. We have developed a range of programs aimed at helping you become involved in training, without having to commit. Please enquire about kick start program, 7-day free training passes, joining the free social fitness club and also having a free consultation with a trainer.

9.       I am unable to get to any of your studios or outdoor training facilities, can you come to my home, or a location of my choice?

YES! We are more than happy to come to you, whether its at your house or a location that just suits you better. We offer mobile training at several locations across Melbourne.

The other great benefit is that not only does an exercise expert come to you, we will also bring all the training equipment. Please enquire now about our mobile training deals.

10.   Myself and some work mates want to train together, can you deliver a package for us?

We offer Corporate Training Packages, Group Personal Training classes and even can tailor classes for you and your friends.

Please call on 03 9820 0231 about our corporate training packages. We can deliver a program regardless of whether you and your colleagues will be paying or whether it is an employer-paid initiative.

11.   I want to bring a friend to my Personal Training sessions, is this OK?

Whether you are doing 1 on 1 Training or Group Personal Training, we’d love to have you bring friends! For Group Personal training, all you have to do is discuss this with your trainer before your friend’s first session.

If one of your friend’s wants to join in on your 1 on 1 training classes, please ask your trainer or enquire now.

12.   I don’t like gyms, do I have to join a gym to train with Melbourne Personal Training?

NO! We offer training at our studios as well as outdoor training. We have a large range of our own training gear, so you won’t have to attend any gyms when you train with us.

13.   I have had bad experiences with other PT’s, how can I be sure this will not happen at Melbourne Personal Training?

Our aim is to help you achieve your fitness goals and enjoy your training! Our friendly staff realise that as individuals we all have different needs, therefore we work with you to help you achieve success! Our team is made up of expert trainers determined to provide the most positive training environment for our clients. We are committed to taking the extra step to ensure you are getting the most out of your training, while also enjoying it!

14.   I travel alot with work and cannot commit to a Trainer – is there any way you can help me stay in shape?

We realise that people are extremely busy, and sometimes it is just not possible to always meet with a trainer. With this, we have developed the 12 week Weight Loss Coaching Program. This Includes an initial consultation with a Trainer (your ‘Weight Loss Coach’) and development of a healthy eating and lifestyle plan. Your personal weight loss coach will work with you over the 12 weeks of the program to educate you as much as possible to make the correct lifestyle choices to accelerate your weight loss. 15.   I have injuries which are preventing me from training – are you able to help me get fit even though I have to work around injuries?

At MPT we can custom design a program according to your training abilities. We respect that many people carry injuries and disabilities, and together with our expertise are confident of helping you achieve exercise success.
